01 Insights

The Neurotorium project is designed to improve awareness around brain diseases by making the most recent knowledge and research within psychiatry, neurology, and neuroscience easily accessible to educators and health professionals.

Neurotorium is founded by the Lundbeck Foundation: A commercial foundation working to strengthen brain health and establish Denmark as a global frontrunner within neuroscience.

02 Challenge

The Lundbeck Foundation wanted a digital concept that would make it easier for educators and clinicians to gain access to unbiased and current information. The ambition was to create the best possible conditions for educators to offer high-value education, positively impact scientific innovation, and help improve the lives of patients by bringing new knowledge to healthcare professionals working with brain diseases.

The Neurotorium solution consists of an interactive knowledge platform in one uniform visual identity crafted in WordPress and PHP.

The platform offers educational content developed by leading experts in psychiatry, neurology, and neuroscience. It includes features that allow educators to not just maneuver through content but create their own workspace compiled of relevant information, content for presentations, and personal notes to be used in their work and shared.

With more than 900 PowerPoint slides available on the site, the user can also design their own tailored and interactive presentations using the “Slide Lab” tool.

The solution also entails a 3D brain atlas: An anatomically correct, interactive 3D model of the brain consisting of more than 200 3D-modeled components. The model gives the user a 360-degree view of the brain’s structure and the option to make sagittal incisions, read about specific areas, and download tailored images for presentations.
